Bob Wolfberg, President - PLS Financial Services, Inc. 

In 1997, Bob Wolfberg and his brother Dan Wolfberg started with a handful of currency exchanges in Chicago. Like their grandfather who opened his first currency exchange in 1939, the brothers recognized that there was demand for reliable, convenient financial services in communities underserved by banks. Bob and Dan have built a thriving group of businesses which includes PLS Check Cashers, PLS Loan Store, PLS Tax Service, and PLS Vehicle Registration . Chicago-based PLS provides management services for more than 300 locations in nine states, which employ more than 3,000 individuals.

Bob Wolfberg received his law degree at the University of Pennsylvania and his BA from Tulane University, where he serves on the School of Liberal Arts Dean’s Advisory Council. He is president of the Illinois Small Loan Association and a board member of Financial Services Centers of America. He is also a member of the Young President’s Organization.

Bob Wolfberg shares the leadership role at PLS, serving as President with his brother. Bob leads PLS corporate services, including legal, finance, government relations, information technology and PLS Realty, a real estate development unit. He also oversees PLS Charities, which contributed more than $55,000 to neighborhood schools last year. 
 

Dan Wolfberg

Dan Wolfberg, President - PLS Financial Services, Inc. 

Dan Wolfberg teamed up with his brother Bob Wolfberg shortly after graduating from Tulane University with a degree in economics. Together, the brothers built a financial services group of companies that offer check cashing, micro-loans and tax preparation services. 

Dan is President of PLS, along with his brother Bob. He manages and oversees the operations of PLS Check Cashers, PLS Loan Store, PLS Tax Service and PLS Vehicle Registration. Growing up in the family business, Dan observed what worked. Since then, he’s developed a sixth sense for best practices in marketing retail financial services focusing on value to the customer. Dan is focused on building the PLS brand and setting high expectations for customer service. His unerring eye for real estate potential has helped anchor PLS stores in high-traffic locations.

Dan is passionate about his two families: PLS and his family at home. He treats PLS staff like family, offering salary, benefits, training and advancement opportunities beyond the norm in many retail businesses.
